'Ambitious and dedicated': Meet the 18-year-old who wants to sell your house (Stuff reporter Jen Eder March 2021)

A high school graduate has become the youngest cadet in recent memory at one of Blenheim’s real estate firms, and is prepared for a challenge in Marlborough’s congested housing market.

Max Morris, 18, has not had much of a summer holiday after finishing up at Marlborough Boys’ College last year, having spent the last few months studying. But all going well, in a few weeks he will become a certified real estate sales and marketing consultant.

Morris said he was always drawn to a career in sales, finding more motivation to perform for a commission-based income, and real estate in particular stood out.

I wanted a job where the more effort you put in, the more rewards, or gains, you can get out of it eventually. So it had to be a career where you weren’t on a set wage every week.
